HAPPY HOLIDAYSFROM THE HEMPSTEAD CHAMBER
This is the season of the year when we put aside our troubles and go about the business of celebrating the accomplishments of the year that is about to end. And we do our best to help those among us who have not fared so well.
The Hempstead Chamber is part of a coalition devoted to encouraging residents to shop locally instead of taking our precious resources to the malls, and spending in the Village so that tax revenue can be shared here.
During the summer the Chamber partnered with the Village and National Grid to bring eight weekends of pleasure to the children of Hempstead.
The Chamber brought the Board of Elections to the Library so that Village residents would have an opportunity to learn to use the new voting machines. Monthly programs of opportunities were available to members of the Chamber and others.
The Chamber board of directors is active, inspired and committed to making this season and the year to come the best ever. In the meantime, mark the date, Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce will host its annual holiday event, an informal lunch. This will be an opportunity to join with the Chamber board of directors, government and school officials, business owners, community and civic leaders and visitors to break bread together in the spirit of working cooperatively toward a better Hempstead. We will meet in the headquarters of the Chamber at 1776 Nichols Court, the historic Old Willets House in Denton Green Parkacross the street from Village Hall.
There is no cost. We are looking forward to getting to know you. No need to call, just attend.
